Upon arriving in France we traveled to La Defense to find that the hotel wasn’t actually there, it was one stop away on the main train line to a station called Cobervwa which is actually quite convenient travel wise as there is a direct train route to a central Paris based station.
The room we stayed in, 302 wasn’t exactly spacious, probably 4 x 3 meters excluding the on suite bathroom, the room was based next to the aforementioned stations train line, and had double windows (literally two windows) this made the room incredibly hot in summer unless both sets where left open during the day. The bathroom was very modern, tiled and came with a power shower.
There was no safety deposit box in the room and only two pillows to share, four would have been nicer. The hotel is situated very close to a boulangerie (bakers), butchers, tabaconist, ATM and supermarket, the boulangerie was extremely good and has a fast moving, long queue of local French residents, every single day.
The light fittings were all slightly lose and there was a hole in the wall covered with a picture of the Eiffel tower, the TV was a modern 24″ LG plasma but had no English channels (it also had a DVD player).
There is no free WiFI in the hotel however there is an option to purchase access, the hotel reception is open 24 hours a day, with friendly staff so we found we could come and go as we pleased, however the lift is very small so bringing large luggage may be a problem.
For the price we paid and the knowledge that the hotel was a 2* and we would stay in it again, however we wouldn’t pay the full asking price for this room as we got a great deal from Eurohotels which made it very good value for money, considering its location and few niggles.
